Melle, Germany - September 1, 2026 - ProjectWizards GmbH today releases adoc Studio 5. The authoring environment for Mac, iPad, and iPhone now encrypts PDF exports straight from the editor and defines whether readers may print, change, copy, comment on, or fill in form fields in the document. Until now, editorial teams assigned those rights after the export, in Adobe Acrobat Pro or a comparable tool, and repeated the work for every new revision.

Protection in the Source File, Not in a Post-Processing Tool

adoc Studio controls PDF protection through attributes in the document header. The ads-pdf-owner-password attribute sets the owner password and thereby encrypts the document. ads-pdf-user-password defines the password readers need to open the file. Five further attributes grant or block individual rights: printing, changes, copying and extraction, commenting, and form-field entry.

Because these settings live in the source text, they apply again on every export. Publish a new revision of a test report, a specification, or a proposal, and it carries the same rights as the revision before it.

Print work gains one more attribute. With ads-pdf-filter, adoc Studio applies a Quartz filter to the export, such as a CMYK profile from the ColorSync Utility. The feature works on macOS.

Translating Entire Projects Into Several Languages

Version 5 extends translation management. In the new Manage Languages panel, adoc Studio translates several documents of a project at once into several target languages. Requests run through the user’s own API key directly to OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, not through ProjectWizards servers. The documents stay outside the vendor’s infrastructure.

Further Changes

The include command now pulls in single line ranges or tagged regions of a file instead of its entire content, which helps above all when including source code. Authors supply images in a light and a dark variant, and HTML exports contain both and switch to match the reader’s environment. The notitle and toclevels options control which headings appear in the text and in the table of contents. The error navigator collects an export’s warnings and errors in one place, and the toolbar follows the new Liquid Glass design of macOS 26 and iPadOS 26.

The Pro Edition with PDF export, password protection, translation management, and AI integration costs $249.99 per year or $24.99 per month.
