4. Writing Tools with Artificial Intelligence

The application of artificial intelligence is constantly changing and will yield different results. Never rely solely on AI; always verify the results! adoc Studio has no influence over this.

In the editor context menu of the Pro version of adoc Studio, we offer a range of practical tools for text manipulation. These are powered by three AI providers.

  • OpenAI with ChatGPT

  • Anthropic with Claude

  • Google with Gemini

Apple’s writing tools are not used.

The provider and the desired model are specified in the adoc Studio  Settings…. For all providers, you will need an API key, which will be requested the first time you call a writing tool.

After that, adoc Studio provides you with these tools:

Friendly

A selected text is rephrased in the most friendly manner possible.

Professional

A selected text is rephrased in the most objective manner possible.

Concise

A selected text is rephrased in the most compact form possible.

Proofread

A selected text is proofread. Identified errors are underlined in blue. In the context menu, you can accept or reject individual suggestions (similar to spelling correction).

Table

A selected text is formatted as a table where possible.

List

A selected text is formatted as a list where possible.

Main Points

A selected text is summarized into its main points.

Summary

A selected text is summarized in a brief form.

Translate

If you have set up Languages in the project, these will be offered in the context menu for translating a text selection.

Custom Prompt

Of course, there is also the input prompt, which allows you to make any request to the AI. The result will depend on the selection:

  • replace the text selection,

  • insert behind the text selection,

  • copy to the clipboard,

  • highlight in differences, or

  • create a new file.
